born in the United Kingdom and grew
up in both England and Wales. In
1985 she moved to the United States
to attend Rhode Island School of
Design, in Providence Rhode Island,
where she attained her Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree in Painting. A few
years later she received her Master
of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from
Indiana University in Bloomington,
Indiana. Since that time Helen has
taught painting and drawing at
various colleges including Tyler

and The College of New Jersey in
Ewing New Jersey, generating over
eighteen years of teaching

States including the Katharina Rich
Perlow and Bowery Galleries in New
York, and The Morpeth Gallery in New

During her time at
Rhode Island School of Design and
later at Indiana University Helen
had the opportunity to study and
teach in Italy. This was the
beginning of her love affair with
most everything Italian. For the
past ten years Helen has traveled to
Italy for the summer months to
attend residency programs or
workshops. In May 2009 Helen was
able to follow her dream and move to
Florence, Italy where she is now
living and painting with her cat. |
